YOUR CHALLENGES

You will manage and grow our business unit 4F as a Business Unit Manager. The teams in this business unit are: Ferro, Ferro Projects, Recyclables, Forest, Food and Sugar. You are skilled at managing people, and you will use this ability to lead and assess a team of 30 people in total, including teamleaders and forwarders. You will help them grow and improve their skills. You will also work with the teamleaders to establish operational and systematic flows.

You will have many different duties besides managing your staff. You will decide on the overall vision and strategy of the unit, oversee and report on the performance, and provide occasional operational assistance to the teams. You will also participate in various internal and external projects (e.g. digitalization, employee productivity). Your ability to build relationships is strong, but your competence in customer interactions is also vital. You can communicate effectively with customers, especially when dealing with issues that have been escalated to you by your team. You will play an important role in growing the business unit. You will constantly be in close contact with the entire business unit and be in strong collaboration with the commercial department.

You will report into the General Manager of our Belgian forwarding division, and be part of the Belgian management team, where you will work closely with the other BU managers on companywide topics.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

We are looking for a keen candidate with at least five years of freight forwarding coordination experience. You like to improve your team, optimize processes, and work in a lean way. You have an analytical mind, basic finance knowledge (such as monthly closure, billing,…), and you are interested in the latest technologies to join in different projects. You care about customers, and as a natural networker you will grow our professional connections. You communicate well and speak Dutch and English fluently.
