When we first met GAC and decided to start a business together, it was with a simple premise: we wanted to be the ‘disruptor’ and challenge the status quo. We had noticed a ‘take it or leave it’ attitude from some in the freight forwarding sector; the shipping small print had clients over a barrel and they were charged the earth. Pindar has always focused on how best to serve the customer (with awards to show for it), so that approach seemed alien and self-defeating to us. We saw a solid business opportunity in setting ourselves apart from the competition by joining forces with the GAC Group, which shares those same values.

We had experienced the excellent GAC service first-hand when we shipped our two Volvo 60s from the UK to Bahrain in 2009 and we seized the opportunity to work with them to offer a bespoke service tailored to the sport of sailing. We set up our head office in the UK in 2011, and have drawn on the experience and scope of the GAC network to develop a business that understands the importance of a competitive mind-set, benefits from a truly international outlook and, most importantly, is service-focused and understands the needs of both the customer and the market.

Our team has decades of experience gained from project management and programme delivery for mayor international events such as Commonwealth Games, Summer and Winter Olympic Games. Tried and tested by premier multi-staged global events since 2011, we have a full suite of consultancy and management services to meet your needs.
Our experienced team is on call for you from initial concept through to event completion, for feasibility planning and budgeting, advice on temporary infrastructure (overlay) requirements and procurement, ticketing strategies and pedestrian traffic flows, park and ride schemes and traffic management planning. We will guide you through general licensing requirements and liaise with your local Safety Advisory Group (SAG), assist with critical contingency planning, medical support and crisis management development.

Our site management planning and implementation services have been thoroughly tested by some of the world’s most logistically challenging events covering risk assessments & method statements (RAMS), site access, infrastructure delivery sequencing, positioning and grounding. We source local Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) to suit your requirements and, if needed, will assist with MHE licences for site personnel obtained through local training centres. Vessel Monitoring Recovery Logistics
Extend your shore team and tap into our wealth of offshore sailing and technical expertise with our vessel monitoring and stanby logistics services. Before you set off on your next adventure or delivery, book in with our monitoring team who will track your progress and remain on standby ready to step in with shore support or recovery logistics services should you need them.
It pays to be prepared; our experience of managing logistics for major events and international sailing teams has taught us the importance of having stringent contingency and crisis management planning. It is not always possible to have a large enough team to implement these plans and this is where our experts at GAC Pindar can assist.
We will work with you to develop a tailored contingency and crisis management plan to cover timelines and locations along your chosen migration route. Working with appropriate technicians we formulate capsize plans and boat recovery instructions and liaise with your own insurers prior to and during an incident or emergency. Familiar with the responsibility of being first point of contact for maritime coastguard agencies, we collate and hold all vessel and crew documentation, comfortable with managing communications during an incident or emergency situation. We have created an invaluable service and are ready to become a true and trusted extension of your shore team.

De-mystify the customs clearance process with GAC Pindar. We have the local knowledge and global resources to provide solid advice on procedures around the world. Working with GAC offices and carefully selected agents choose our full clearing and forwarding services for all types of shipments to any destination.
With careful planning and advice on the appropriate method of temporary admission for various types of cargo, our customs clearance services have assisted with the successful clearance of event infrastructure and vessel shipments, ensuring timely delivery for the most complex multi-staged events.
Fully conversant with ATA Carnets, Carnet de passage, Temporary Admission under bond, Certificates of Origin, we work through a solution that reduces the risk of clearance delays and follow-up with correct closure once the equipment has moved on.
We work with GAC offices and trusted agents to provide a global customs clearance solution. In the UK, as part of GAC Services (UK) Ltd, GAC Pindar is an Approved Economic Operator appointed by Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC) department. This is a quality mark recognizing us as a trusted customs clearance provider.
Our in-house software connects with the state-of-the-art UK customs clearance platform and, in the current Brexit landscape, the fiscal team is gearing up to 24/7, 365 day submissions.

We have a large pool of IATA trained personnel. DG notes, Carrier Approval, amendments to DG notes as per IMO department request are carried out in UK for all shipments globally. Where required, container labelling and DGN sign off at point of loading are carried out by GAC Pindar ground staff at each venue. We advise on packing and if necessary, labelling is provided subject to MSDS and detailed description of type, packaging, volume per package information. We ensure that any DG containers / items are moved under a separate BOL / AWB to avoid any delays to the rest of the shipment.
