Some two hundred employees, shareholders, and customers of Manuport Logistics gathered last Friday at the company's premises. MPL had something to celebrate. Not only was CEO Guy Pasmans turning 54, but the Manuport Lounge, which was opened at the end of 2020, is also getting an update in the form of a new rooftop. This called for a big party with music and food trucks. For the occasion, the company's first post-COVID event, Manuport's Spanish team traveled to Antwerp.

Meeting rooms in a container

On top of the existing lounge, which is constructed from old shipping containers and includes a chalet-style meeting area on the ground floor, an additional floor will be built. Two-thirds of this will consist of a sunny rooftop with a spectacular view over Antwerp. In addition, a simple but comfortable meeting room with a bar was built on that floor, also in shipping containers. "By the way, the furnishing was done with products from companies we work with," says Guy Pasmans. The Manuport CEO christened the extended lounge by smashing a bottle of champagne against it in maritime style.
